This 14 year old chestnut mare not only continues to keep up with the younger horses on the field, but also continues to outplay many of them. She is one of Sugar’s favorite mares and won Best Playing Pony in the 2009 Pacific Coast Open for the second year in a row. Stuart “Sugar” Erskine is one of the best players to come out of South Africa. He is known as a fast, efficient and passionate player. Sugar plays here in Wellington during the winters, and then travels to California and Argentina for polo during the remainder of the year.
