INTERNATIONAL POLO TO HOST LOCAL FOURTH GRADERS

WELLINGTON, FL - Who says polo is only a game for those who can afford to play? International Polo Club Palm Beach will open its doors to an expected 1,200 area fourth grade students on Tuesday January 22 from 10:30 to 12:30 to introduce them to the sport.
The students, who attend schools in Wellington, including Panther Run, Equestrian Trails, Binks Forest, Wellington, Elbridge Gale and New Horizons Elementary schools, will watch two teams compete in a match that features a half-time Kool-Aid stomp.
Polo Professionals Nicolas Roldan, Todd Offen, Brandon Phillips and Jeff Hall will play with local 12- and 13-year olds Michael Armour, Christina Firestone, Matthew Coppola and Michael Belissimo. Two pros with play alongside two youths in the two-chukker match featuring announcer Tony Coppola.
“I wanted to invite the fourth grade because ten is a age when youth start to play polo,” said International Polo owner and found John Goodman. “We want them to know polo is a sport for the entire community.”
