Professional Polo Ready to Get Underway
at International Polo Club Palm Beach

For the first time—media are invited to the Joe Barry Memorial Tournament Draw Friday, January 4, 2008 at 11:00 AM.

Location Wellington
What:  20 teams will be competing in five professional polo tournaments throughout the season. Beginning January 13, 2008 eight teams will compete in the Joe Barry Memorial Cup and others will join them in the Ylvisaker Cup (February), CV Whitney (early March) USPA Gold Cup (March).  The season finale is the Stanford US Open Polo Championship which will be played for the 104th time in April 2008. 

New Guys—The North American Polo League is continuing its first year run with eight teams signed and competing for a $100,000 prize to be awarded during the Stanford US Open Polo Championship.  NAPL teams will continue to earn point totals for tournament victories and placement.  The total accumulated points from the first year of play will determine the prize winner.

Players, League representatives, International Polo Management and others will be available to answer any and all questions on the coming season.  The draw determines who will be playing in which bracket and which two teams will compete in the Opening Day event on Sunday, January 13, 2008, 3:00 PM.
