Club Appoints New President
of Club Operations
Palm
Beach, Florida – September 21, 2007 – International
Polo Club Palm Beach recently announced the appointment
of John A. Wash, CCM as their new President of Club
Operations effective September 1. Wash came to IPC from
Bentwater Yacht and Country Club where he was the General
Manager and Chief Operating Officer of this exclusive,
privately owned 3,000 home/membership community in Montgomery,
Texas.
At IPC Palm Beach, Wash will be directing the Club’s
operations including finance and budgeting, human resources,
sports management, golf operations, food and beverage
and the legal issues and technological development that
is inherent in any large organization.
Wash comes to IPC Palm Beach with a wealth of experience
in all aspects of resort and country club service. He
initially graduated from the Culinary Institute of America
in Hyde Park, New York and then went on to become an
Executive Chef. From there he made the transition to
hotel management at the General Manager level. In 1966
Wash joined the elite group of accredited club managers
as he became a CCM, (Certified Club Manager) a distinction
that marks the highest level of professionalism within
the industry.

Wash’s club management experience also includes
such positions as General Manager and Chief Operating
Officer of Lochinvar Golf Club in Houston where his
expertise in financial planning and business development
improved long-term membership growth and the club’s
financial stability, and the General Manager and Chief
Operating Officer of The Golf Club of Purchase in Purchase,
New York. There John managed major construction projects
that included a $38 million golf course and a $12 million
clubhouse.
Wash is an active member of the Club Managers Association
of America (CMAA).
