RAIN POSTPONES CV WHITNEY POLO PLAY

WELLINGTON, FL - The polo game scheduled for today at International Polo Club Palm Beach in the CV Whitney Cup between Las Monjitas and White Birch was postponed due to rain and rescheduled for 11:00 am Friday, February 22, at 11 AM .

The revised schedule for the weekend is as follows:

Friday, February 22: 11 AM Las Monjitas vs White Birch

Saturday, February 23: 12 noon Bendabout vs Audi
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa3 pm Isla Carroll vs Orchard Hill

 Sunday February 24: 10 AM Skeeterville vs. Lechuza Caracas
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa 3 pm Pony Express vs. Las Monjitas/White Birch Winner

Wednesday, February 27: Semi Finals at 12 noon and 3 PM

Sunday, March 2: 3 PM Finals

Crab Orchard and Black Watch were eliminated by Audi and Lechuza Caracas in games on Wednesday, February 20.

The CV Whitney Cup is a single elimination polo tournament named in honor of Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney, who along with his cousin John Hay Whitney, were important polo patrons in the 1930's. The son of Hall of Fame patron Harry Payne Whitney, C.V. won the U.S. Open three times and was renowned owner and breeder of thoroughbred racehorses.

International Polo Club Palm Beach is located at 3667 120 th Avenue South in Wellington and hosts professional polo tournaments until April 20. The premier game of the week is played at 3 PM every Sunday on the Stanford Field and Stadium.
