Equestrians Celebrate New Years Eve at International Polo

WELLINGTON, FL It was a whos who of the equestrian world as
almost 200 guests celebrated the countdown for 2006 at International Polo Club
Palm Beach. The New Years celebration began poolside with a cocktail
hour and featured delicious passed hors d'oeuvres as guests mingled and discussed
the upcoming polo and equestrian season. Sylvia

then made their way to into the Mallet Grille, where they enjoyed a four-course
gourmet meal that started with salmon trio and a mixed greens with asparagus tips
and mushroom salad. The choice of entrée was either roast tenderloin of
beef or macadamia encrusted sea bass and the meal was topped off with a decadent
dessert of hazelnut delice with mixed berry coulis. The celebration kicked
into high gear with a champagne toast at midnight. After dinner, party-goers danced
until the wee hours to the music of Encore. |
Among the
guests were Matthew and Sylvia Firestone, 8-goal polo star Julio Arellano and
his wife, Meghan, polo patron Angelo Kleronomos, Denis and Sandi Quinlan, Shaugnessey,
Leo and Samantha Conroy, 7-goaler Luis Escobar, Ralph and Holly Caristo, Randy
and Jane Aversano as well as 9-time AGA Rider of the Year Margie Engle and her
husband, Steve. It was a nice way of starting off the new year with
our members and friends, said Michael C. Brown, International Polo Club
General Manager. Were expected a fantastic season. International
Polo Club begins its third season of high-goal polo on Sunday, January 15 with
a first-round game in the Joe Barry Memorial Cup. Individual game tickets range
from $10 for general admission and $20 for reserved terrace seating and are available

available at the gate on the day of the game. International Polo Club Palm
