a vow to be a setting for international events, the club is proud to be hosting
the friendly four-chukker polo match and benefit, according to General Manager
Michael C. Brown. CeCe Farris of Palm Beach is the International Honorary Chairman.
The event is sponsored by the Palm Beach Fine Art and Antiques Show. Rutherford,
in his first appearance at International Polo Club, will play for the British
side with 5-goalers Julian Hipwood and Adrian Wade, along with patron Mark Cann,
president of the British Forces Foundation. Scheduled to play for the United States
team are patrons John Goodman of Isla Carroll and owner of International Polo
Club, award-winning actor Tommy Lee Jones of San Saba and Tim Gannon of Outback
Steakhouse. A fourth player will be announced later. |
A
polo match followed by an afternoon of elegance is the perfect recipe for a charity
event, said Brown. Having Mike Rutherford join us is an honor. Guests
will enjoy a champagne reception and lunch by the bite in the polo
stadium prior to the match. Following the match, players and guests will adjourn
to the marquee for decadent desserts while enjoying an exclusive preview of the
Palm Beach Fine Art and Antiques Show, including antiques, artwork and jewelry,
according to Brown. Benefit tickets for the event are $150 per person and
include VIP seats to the polo match. For ticket information, please call (561)
204-5687. The British Forces Foundation was founded in 1999 by Jim Davidson,

being and esprit de corps of all serving personnel through quality entertainment."

services on operations. Goodman and Gannon have played polo in England
for many years, forming long-lasting friendships. This is a unique
opportunity for the club to live up to its vision of hosting special events focusing
on different countries and cultures, said Goodman. We hope this annual
event continues to grow in popularity and stature. The Palm Beach
