Polo Club Palm Beach Championship Field Re-named Stanford
Field With Major Sponsorship Commitment by Houston-based Stanford Private
Wealth Management By YA Teitelbaum January 10, 2006 WELLINGTON,
FL International Polo Club Palm Beach, along with Stanford Private Wealth
Management, announced a three-year agreement for the naming rights of the championship
field at the premier high-goal polo club in North America. Under the terms
of the agreement, Stanford Field is now the exclusive name of the
championship field at International Polo Club Palm Beach, the largest high-goal
polo stadium in the United States. The agreement takes effect immediately and
continues through December 2008. The monumental announcement
was made by International Polo Club General Manager Michael C. Brown at the annual
pre-season press conference and luncheon Tuesday at the clubs Grand Marquee.
This is a maturation of a traditional sponsorship that we began
in 2004 when we became title sponsor of the U.S. Open, said Jay Comeaux,
Executive Director of the Houston-based Stanford. International Polo Club
and Stanford Private Wealth Management are very similar because we both believe
in doing everything first class. We decided to expand our sponsorship and we couldnt
be happier. Stanford began its sponsorship at International Polo Club
in 2004 as the title sponsor of the U.S. Open Polo Championship, the most prestigious
polo tournament in North America and it will continue in that role through the
2008 tournament. A record-tying 15 teams competed in the 2005 tournament and 7,138
spectators attended the 2005 final, the largest crowd at a polo match in South
Florida in more than a decade. International Polo Club and Stanford
are perfect partners for this venture, said John Goodman, owner of International
Polo Club Palm Beach and patron of two-time U.S. Open champion Isla Carroll. Jay
and Stanford have been terrific supporters of International Polo Club since Day
1. Im very pleased that our sponsorship relationship has moved to the next
level. This speaks so well for the sport of polo, for the vision
that Stanford has, for the long-term commitment by John Goodman and his family
for the sport and the community of Wellington, said Brown. About
